Ezy-as has helped many of my patients to put on their graduated compression stockings independently. Patients report finding this device simple to use in order to get their garments over their heels and up their legs. There is minimal pain and effort required to slip the garments onto the Ezy-as and this assistive device has lessened the time taken to comfortably donn their garments.
From an occupational therapist's point of view, Ezy-as allows a variety of compression materials to be applied to a patient's upper and lower limbs. Shaped support tubigrip as well as class 2 graduated compression stockings, both above and below knee styles, can be positioned over streamline dressings to assist wound healing associated with venous insufficiency using the Ezy-as. I have to wear medical stockings regularly because I have poor circulation in the bottom part of my legs and an Ulcer. I’ve always had trouble putting on my stockings because my hands are weak from arthritis. Ever since I got the Ezy-as it goes on really easy. Even my husband can do it, he can put them on me no trouble. It has made life a lot better and I do wear my stockings now more than I did before. Joyce - North Queensland
Before when I’d try to put my socks on, I’d have all sorts of trouble just getting down there. Ezy-as is just the thing us old fella`s need. With Ezy-as it is as easy as easy to get the on and I assure you, it is a goer Noel - North Queensland
I have just bought one of your great stocking puter-on-er for my son who is in a wheelchair and wears stockings all the time. I put one stocking on for him by following the instructions on the box and then he put the next one on quicker than I did. It has made his and his carers lives so very much easier. Many thanks for all your hard work to produce such a life changing item. All the best from Josephine and Martin
Our medical clinic has just purchased one of your wonderful inventions - the ezy-as. This was after seeing you on the new inventors. We just wanted to let you know that it has been a HUGE success and we are promoting it to all the patients who have the problems you described with mobility and access. Many thanks yet again Joan, Practice Nurse
Just wanted to let you know I have just got my EZY-AS and it is fantastic. Congratulations to you and your Dad. Regards, Joy
We have just introduced one of our clients to your wonderful device. He found it so easy to use and will now change his life style. Up until recently because he was unable to apply his stockings he would go walking everyday with a friend and their dogs then come home and spend a considerable amount of time in various contorted positions trying to get the stockings on.
This practice led to severe swelling and subsequent leg ulcers. As part of treatment it was necessary for him to apply his stockings as soon as he arose in the am and this then meant that he was unable to walk with his friend as he liked to shower and then apply his stockings after his walk and the stress and strain of putting on his stockings twice in one day was all too much so he stopped walking.
Today the smile on his face, when he used your device for the first time was wonderful and his comment “I will now be able to walk with ….again in the mornings” added to our joy. Our client asked that we pass on his delight and thanks to you.Regards, Sue, Community Nurse
I purchased a large & med ezy-as for my Mum & myself (I’ll need it when I get my feet operated on next year). My mum is in an aged care facility, wears compression stockings that were a devil to put on, as you would know. SHE LOVES IT & so do the staff, some of whom were reluctant to try it at first. I took one to the main office & gave a quick demo. (I'm a recently retired aged care RN) Needless to say, those who saw it were amazed at the ease of use.
The management have now ordered some for residents in high care. The one I bought for myself has already been snaffled by another resident, so I’ll have to order another one for myself later.
Thankyou, for saving the residents' skin & from needless pain + the staffs' aching fingers & time!!!!
I can think of burns applications, as well as other trauma. Best wishes - Barb
I just thought you might like an update on how my Mum is going with the Ezy-as. At 89 I thought this might be a bit difficult for her to manage in the sense that it was a new tool to learn, but she is not to be underestimated and by the second try she had developed her own way of putting the elastic stocking on. We were all very happy at this result and want to thank you again for inventing this "helping hand".
The Sutherland Medical people were very helpful and sent one to me that afternoon, knowing that we were visiting my mother within a couple of days. Hope all is well with you both. Kind regards, Marlene
