Fit stockings and garments to upper and lower limbs

Testimonials

Anti-embolic stockings are a well know strategy in the prevention of venous blood clots. The stockings provide measured compression around the legs and due to this are difficult to apply. Over the years some devices, including plastic shopping bags, have been used to assist with the application. Some worked better then others, but I have not seen any that work as well as the new EZY-AS.
It really is as easy as! Staff and patient's alike love this new invention! It is easy to use, easy to clean and very cost effective. At The Northern Hospital EZY-AS applicators are stored next to our antiembolic stocking supply. When required, staff collect both stockings and applicator. Either staff use the EZY-AS to apply the stockings, or they teach the patient on how they can do this themselves.

To check skin integrity and for hygiene purposes, stockings must be briefly removed at least twice a day. To ensure good compliance we now keep the EZY-AS at the patient's bed-side, either until the stockings are no longer required or the patient is discharged. They are stored in the "Ikan holder" (available from same supplier). We have now mounted these holders on the inside of all our inpatient wardrobes as they are ideal to store slide sheets, the EZY-AS etc. Staff and patients love using the EZY-AS. It is such an easy solution for such a long-standing problem! You should try it!

I was introduced to the Ezy-As nearly 2 years ago now. A mutual friend invited me round to her place to watch a demonstration of its use, as she knew that I wear compression stockings for oedema. I was very impressed with what I saw. A few weeks later my friend presented me with one for my birthday, (July 2007) bless her, and I have used it ever since.

I did struggle with the loading at first, until I realized that I was trying to load the stocking inside out. I now find it a breeze, and even take it on holidays and overnight stays as I would be lost without it. It is a great size and fits neatly around my toiletries bag for packing, thus taking no space and protected from breakage as well.

This sturdy little device has made a great difference to the wearing of my stocking.

I can now put one on straight after a shower, even if my leg is still slightly damp. I have quite dry skin, so was loathe to use talcum powder.

It is so much easier to manoeuvre over my ankle and has saved my finger nails from breakages into the bargain.

I have been trialing the use of a half length stocking worn with the full length one, and it is no trouble to put both on, one on top of the other.

Thanks both Barrys for your terrific invention.

Sandy

I have found the Ezy-As an excellent product to work with. It’s so simple to use and has reduced application time greatly. I find the sturdy design helps to protect and prevent discomfort when applying stockings and it is good value for money as it doesn’t have to be renewed on a regular basis.

I like the cheery colours denoting various sizes as they are easily identifiable and do not have a clinical appearance. I highly recommend it.

I just wish to thank you VERY MUCH for this excellent invention. I ordered the stocking applicator for my dad and this arrived last week. I have been struggling for over a year with his stockings, and as I have bursitis in my shoulder putting his stockings on aggravated my condition.

From the very first time I used this aid I was so amazed at the ease in which the stocking went on, and each time I use it, I wish I had known about it earlier. Thank you very much for making my life so much easier.

I was frustrated! As an Operating Theatre Registered Nurse, I am required to apply compression stockings on Pre-operative patients every day however the arthritis in my hands prevented me from performing this task well.

As an avid fan of ABC TV’s ‘New Inventors’ program, I contacted the inventors, when I saw the ‘EZYAS Applicators”! They kindly dispatched a set to me & I introduced ‘EZYAS’ to my work colleagues immediately.

What a wonderful invention! It’s safe, easy, quick and not painful, for either the nurse or the patient – could’t be better! As a result the Hospital has placed orders for sets of ‘EZYAS Applicators’ to be used in all Departments & Wards; from Pre-OP Admission Centre to Cardiac & Orthopaedic wards and many patients have ordered their own too! Thank you to the Hildebrandts for their most thoughtful & useful invention!

Ezy-as has helped many of my patients to put on their graduated compression stockings  independently. Patients report finding this device simple to use in order to get their garments over their heels and up their legs. There is minimal pain and effort required to slip the garments onto the Ezy-as and this assistive device has lessened the time taken to comfortably donn their garments.

I am now home from hospital after hip surgery and reporting in on the Applicator and handle attachment. What can I say other than it was a resounding success. ....I practiced at home before I entered hospital and on the third day after surgery (to the amazement of the staff) I was applying the stockings myself and continued to do so for the duration of my stay. As the shifts changed nurses came to my room for a demo every morning......I thank you sincerely - and the handle made the difference particularly when I need to do it myself

Congratulations to you both for introducing us and the world to Ezy-as. What a marvellous invention only a genius could invent something so absolutely fabulous to relieve stress, pain, frustration and near suicide ......we feel sure no other invention has touched and benefitted so many desperate people. .....Strangely enough a lady at School for Seniors commented that she wished she had had an Ezy-as and handle attachment when she had her hip replacement.

I would like to say how much easier using your Ezy-as has become and now with the new handle system you sent me, I thank you very much. The handle has helped me tremendously. Barry I do not dread every morning having to put my stocking on now. I shall be very grateful as I have found this so difficult for many years. Words fail me to express my gratitude but please believe every word I have written.

I have to wear medical stockings regularly because I have poor circulation in the bottom part of my legs and an Ulcer. I’ve always had trouble putting on my stockings because my hands are weak from arthritis. Ever since I got the Ezy-as it goes on really easy. Even my husband can do it, he can put them on me no trouble. It has made life a lot better and I do wear my stockings now more than I did before.

I have just bought one of your great stocking puter-on-er for my son who is in a wheelchair and wears stockings all the time. I put one stocking on for him by following the instructions on the box and then he put the next one on quicker than I did. It has made his and his carers lives so very much easier. Many thanks for all your hard work to produce such a life changing item. All the best from

Just wanted to let you know I have just got my EZY-AS and it is fantastic. Congratulations to you and your Dad.

We have just introduced one of our clients to your wonderful device. He found it so easy to use and will now change his life style. Up until recently because he was unable to apply his stockings he would go walking everyday with a friend and their dogs then come home and spend a considerable amount of time in various contorted positions trying to get the stockings on.

This practice led to severe swelling and subsequent leg ulcers. As part of treatment it was necessary for him to apply his stockings as soon as he arose in the am and this then meant that he was unable to walk with his friend as he liked to shower and then apply his stockings after his walk and the stress and strain of putting on his stockings twice in one day was all too much so he stopped walking.

Today the smile on his face, when he used your device for the first time was wonderful and his comment “I will now be able to walk with ….again in the mornings” added to our joy. Our client asked that we pass on his delight and thanks to you.Regards,
Sue, Community Nurse

I purchased a large & med ezy-as for my Mum & myself (I’ll need it when I get my feet operated on next year). My mum is in an aged care facility, wears compression stockings that were a devil to put on, as you would know. SHE LOVES IT & so do the staff, some of whom were reluctant to try it at first. I took one to the main office & gave a quick demo. (I'm a recently retired aged care RN) Needless to say, those who saw it were amazed at the ease of use.

The management have now ordered some for residents in high care. The one I bought for myself has already been snaffled by another resident, so I’ll have to order another one for myself later.

Thank you, for saving the residents' skin & from needless pain + the staffs' aching fingers & time!!!! I can think of burns applications, as well as other trauma. Best wishes -
Barb

I just thought you might like an update on how my Mum is going with the Ezy-as. At 89 I thought this might be a bit difficult for her to manage in the sense that it was a new tool to learn, but she is not to be underestimated and by the second try she had developed her own way of putting the elastic stocking on. We were all very happy at this result and want to thank you again for inventing this "helping hand".

The Sutherland Medical people were very helpful and sent one to me that afternoon, knowing that we were visiting my mother within a couple of days. Hope all is well with you both. Kind regards,
Marlene
